Jimmy Wright was born and raised in Kentucky. He received a BFA with honors from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago and his MFA from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale. Wright is represented in New York by DC Moore Gallery. He recently exhibited paintings made with paper pulp at Raw Space, Chicago Center for the Paper and Book Arts. The Metropolitan Museum of Art recently acquired a pastel self-portrait for its permanent collection. An article about Jimmy's flower paintings by Lynne Moss Perricelli appears in the January 2003 issue of American Artist Magizine.
